London Resort Lane opened its doors in 1998 in a restored Edwardian townhouse on Brook Street — one of Mayfair's most storied addresses. From the outset, our founding director Charles Ashworth-Lane envisioned a hotel that felt less like a commercial property and more like a supremely well-appointed private home.
Today, under the stewardship of the third generation of the Lane family, that philosophy remains unchanged. We employ 340 people, serve tens of thousands of guests each year, and maintain every detail of our original commitment: quiet excellence without ostentation.
In 2019 we completed a £42 million restoration — re-gilding every cornice, re-laying the hand-cut marble floors and installing our new Vitality Spa without altering a single original facade stone.
London Resort Lane opens with 78 rooms. Charles Ashworth-Lane greets the first guests personally under the new burgundy canopy.
The Automobile Association awards the hotel its coveted five-star designation, recognising outstanding service and facilities.
Our flagship dining destination launches, quickly becoming one of Mayfair's most celebrated tables.
Acquisition of the adjacent Georgian property allows us to add 49 new suites, including the Penthouse Collection.
A landmark restoration project preserves every heritage detail while introducing the Vitality Spa, new bar and state-of-the-art event facilities.
Third-generation ownership continues the tradition of excellence with new culinary partnerships and expanded wellness programming.
